Assembly Decisions against the draft to the IDF

Here are the decisions published by Rabbi Yisrael Yitzhak Kalmanovich (son of Rabbi Avraham) in an Assembly which took place last Thursday, Torah Portion Lech Lecha, 8 of Cheshvan, 5786:

Assembly Decisions

1.) The Assembly expresses the pain and sorrow of tens of thousands of Jews and protests in full force against the government of the State of Israel, who are issuing decrees and are busy in abolishing the religion and Torah observance from the Children of Israel, and seek to impose their sinful culture on Torah-observing Jews, until it has become the main occupation of government institutions, and they try to implement their decrees in the manner of Stalin, both by brutal force and by the power of incitement and temptations, by building worlds of lies and falsehoods and by spending vast amounts of capital. And hence we call on the evil government in the State of Israel - "hands off !" - enough of this anti-religious, anti-moral and anti-humane coercion !

2.) We protest and demand that the evil government immediately cancel the draft decree hanging over the sons and daughters of Israel, whose goal is to corrupt and defile the righteous Jews within their impure army and to mix them with those who have broken the yoke of Torah observance, to cause them to stumble in sin, to defile and pollute them. Therefore, our demand is to completely eliminate all temptations and plans for ultra-Orthodox battalions, quota targets and every other seed of shame, and that no Jew shall be forced to join their impure army.

3.) We protest and demand that the evil government leaves us alone together with our ways and religion, and immediately stop the relentless imprisonments, beatings, and cruel persecutions, aimed against the public of Torah-observant Jews who wish to preserve their religion and Judaism, in a clearly dictatorial and anti-democratic manner, and immediately release all the precious young men sitting in prison cells, who were captured for their steadfast stance on the observance of religion and the Torah.

4.) While all this refers to the evil government, it is known that the Holy Land of Israel is a place allocated to the service of G-d, blessed is He, at the centre of which is the Holy Temple, which is a special place for worshiping G-d, blessed is He, and from there the Holy Spirit was poured upon all Jews who were living in the land of Israel, and the exiles would come to the land to ascend in the heights of work (serving G-d) and the Torah. And the sole reason that the land was given to all of Israel is for the sake of fulfilling the commandments (of the Torah) as it is written in Psalms, chapter 11: "And He has given them the lands of the nations, and the labor of nations shall they inherit, for keeping His laws and for preserving His teachings". And how dare those in power in the State of Israel to come to this holy place in the Land of Israel and to issue decrees to corrupt the service of G-d and destroy religion? Anyone who is not interested in religion has no place in the Land of Israel at all. Therefore, we pray and supplicate before G-d, blessed is He, to repeal the great decree "the decree of the existence of the state" and to remove the rule of evil from the land of Israel, and peace be upon Israel !
