Lema'an Achai ve'raai! i am hoping for your best and with hope that you will like this article about the Statement by the Central Rabbinical Congress of the USA and Canada.
called for Protest 12 March 1980, to protest against a brutal Police attack in shabbat while being in a Synagogue.
קול דמי אחינו צועקים!
בעזהי"ת
THE BLOOD OF OUR BRETHREN CRIES OUT!!
The alarming and brutal pogrom perpetrated by the Israeli police and Border Guards, who invaded and destroyed and looted the Sanctuary and sanctity of the Toldos Aharon synagogue in the midst of a tranquil Shabbos atmosphere is so outrageous and horrifying as it is unprecedented in any civilized country.
Scores of innocent men and children were mercilessly beaten and dragged off to jail, and dozens were hospitalized, many refuse to go for medical help fearing imprisonment!! Forty one people are now in prison.
The brutal Jerusalem Police attacked the people in this Synagogue because some of them participated in a peaceful demonstration Shabbos afternoon against the desecration of the Holy Shabbos on the Ramot Road, that cuts through the Orthodox Jewish communities in Northern Jerusalem.
In view of the graveness of this situation and after having exhausted all appeals to bring about their release, and at the urgent request of our Brethren of the Holy City of Jerusalem
WE PROCLAIM A WORK STAND-STILL
Today THURSDAY March 12. Beginning at 2:00 P.M.
